Musicians in the Making!

Eric played his violin for us. He has only been learning for 7 months and he played Twinkle twinkle little star.

Eric enjoys playing the violin and we loved hearing him play, thank you Eric's Mum for bringing it in to school!

Ceska is about to start learning how to play the violin. She showed us how to hold the instrument. Ceska and Eric told us what the different parts of the violin are called.

The REAL fire engine comes to visit!

Collage and construction with boxes! We have made Emergency Vehicles as part of our Inquiry, Safe Journeys.

Police cars made from stickers, boxes, paper and paint.

Fire Engines painted and decorated with sirens, wheels, cardboard ladders and pipe cleaner hoses!

Ambulances made from sticker paper, bottle top wheels and paper stuck with cold glue guns.

 

Thank you to all the families who collected the bottle tops for our wheels! And thank you to Mrs Trembath's Mum who gave us all the boxes to paint.

Marvellous Maths Week in New Zealand this week! Fractions 1/2 or a 1/4? Can you share some objects EQUALLY between 2 or 4 people?

Half and Half - well done Antony!

Jaymee and Kardia shared 12 between 4 sets equally. 

Jaymee can share 10 teddies between 2 sets equally, and write 1/2.

Antony shared the teddies between 4 groups equally. 1/4 of 12 is 3!

Kardia can share 10 teddies between 2 sets equally, 1/2 each.

Billy shared 10 teddies between 2, he had to count each set to see if it was equal!

Harrison can share 10 teddies between 2 and count the sets to check if they are equal.

WITH R10 - Mrs Prescott, our E-Learning teacher, is beginning to teach us how to use Scratch, a simple programme, where we can put in our own commands.
